About our Traffic Box Project

Grace McCammond painting the traffic box on 10th and Felix Street

Allied Arts Council’s Traffic Box Project aims to create and paint art on traffic signal boxes in the Downtown area and turn street corners into art pieces.

When designing artwork, artists should think of the vitality of the Downtown District and its contribution to the city as a whole, such as arts, music, community events, and special attractions. The traffic box project is an opportunity to enliven the Downtown scene and allow artists to be recognized.

The traffic box project launched in 2012. The average life of the Traffic Box Art is ten years.
