Spring in the South - Charleston, SC Presented by St. Joseph Museums

Join the St. Joseph Museums for Spring in the South!

Trip Includes: All accommodations, transportation, tips & gratuities, most meals and all entry fees.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Depart your group’s location in a spacious, video and restroom equipped motorcoach as you head for your destination: Charleston, South Carolina! This evening you will stay at an en route hotel.

Day 2: After enjoying a Continental Breakfast, you will experience the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Nashville, TN. Tonight, you'll have Dinner, and then relax in an en route hotel after Dinner.

Day 3: Enjoy a Continental Breakfast. Today you will continue your journey, thenenjoy a leisurely Dinner and check into a Charleston area hotel for a four night stay.

Day 4: After a Continental Breakfast, you'll head to historic MIDDLETON PLACE. This impressive attraction contains 65 acres of America’s oldest landscaping. After each member receives their welcome map, you’ll experience the garden, animal stables, the Chapel, Rice Mill, and more! After lunch on your own and free time in Downtown Charleston, you’ll enjoy a scenic HARBOR CRUISE. Enjoy the beauty of the Charleston Harbor and learn the rich history of the "Holy City". During this scenic and relaxing tour, you will see dozens of landmarks and points of interest as hundreds of years of history is covered. This evening, enjoy Dinner before heading back to your hotel for a good night’s rest.

Day 5: After a Continental Breakfast, you'll enjoy a GUIDED TOUR of McLeod Plantation Historic Site. Established in 1851, this important 37-acre Gullah/Geechee heritage site has been carefully preserved in recognition of its cultural and historical significance. Later, you’ll enjoy lunch on your own in the “cultural heart of Charleston.” Next, you'll have some free time to explore The Historic Charleston City Market. Located downtown, this architecturally-significant National Historic Landmark is home to eclectic shops, you won’t find anywhere else. This continuous series of market buildings stretches four city blocks. Next you’ll appreciate a short photo stop at the famed Angel Oak Tree, estimated to be 400 years old! This evening, enjoy Dinner before heading back to your hotel for a good night’s rest.

Day 6: After a Continental Breakfast, you'll enjoy both a GUIDED TOUR OF CHARLESTON and an intimate TOUR inside the HISTORIC CHARLESTON HOME: The Joseph Manigault House. The Manigault’s descent from French Huguenots who fled religious persecution in Europe in the late 1600s. Afterwards, you’ll visit the CHARLESTON TEA GARDEN. At this unique tea garden, your group will take a factory tour and see how tea is made, including tasting samples at the Tea Bar. A highlight of your tour includes a TROLLEY TOUR of the garden. This evening, enjoy Dinner before heading back to your hotel for a good night’s rest.

Day 7: Enjoy a Continental Breakfast at your hotel before leaving for a visit to the South Carolina State Museum in Columbia, SC. Tonight, you'll enjoy Dinner and relax in an en route hotel.
Day 8: After enjoying a Continental Breakfast, you will travel to the Market Square District in Knoxville, TN- boasting a vibrant downtown with a variety of unique entertainment, shopping and dining options. Later, you will depart and check into your en route hotel for a good night’s rest.

Day 9: Enjoy a Continental Breakfast before departing for home... a perfect time to chat with your friends about all the fun things you’ve done, the great sights you’ve seen and where your next group trip will take you!

This adventure is available for the amazing price of $1650 per person. Museum Members receive a 10% discount - Member price $1485 (Double Occupancy) $430 additional charge for single room. Trip deposits are $100 per ticket and can be made online, in person at our Frederick Ave location (3406 Frederick Ave.) or by check via mail. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. Final payments are due January 8, 2027 and can be made via credit card over the phone by check cash or credit card in person at our Frederick Ave. location; or by check via mail. Call will be made to all reserved parties at 6 months out, to verify purchase and arrange payments.
